TEST- San Vicente Dam is Failing
The San Diego County Sheriff's Office reports the San Vicente Dam, located north of Lakeside, is failing. Everyone within this dam flood zone must evacuate immediately to high ground, avoiding low-lying areas such as creeks and rivers.
Impacted areas may include/consist of through Moreno Valley in a southwesterly direction, covering Highway 67, Moreno Avenue and the northwestern portion of Lakeside. Flooding would continue westerly through central Santee and the northern-most portion of El Cajon and then down the San Diego River bed covering areas in the City of San Diego including the Mission Valley flood plain, the San Diego International Airport, portions of Mission Bay and northern Ocean Beach, to the Pacific Ocean.
Evacuate immediately to high ground. Listen to local media for more information. Updates will be posted at AlertSanDiego.org. Do not call 9-1-1 unless you need to report an emergency.
