This is the County of San Diego, Office of Emergency Services with an urgent safety message. The National Tsunami Warning Center has issued a Tsunami Warning for coastal areas of San Diego County, an Evacuation Order is in effect.

Dangerous coastal flooding and powerful currents are expected. If you are at the beach or in a low-lying coastal area, move inland to higher ground immediately. Do not wait. If evacuation is not possible, as a last resort move to the third floor or higher of a sturdy building. 

Stay away from beaches, harbors and the coastline. Do not go to the coast. Follow instructions from local officials. 

Do not call 911 unless you need to report an emergency.
