4.2 Earthquake Near Temecula
The USGS has reported that an earthquake with magnitude 4.2 occurred at 6:16 p.m. today. It was centered 16 miles from Temecula and 20 miles from Escondido.
During an earthquake, remember:
• Drop, Cover and Hold On (for tips on Drop, Cover, and Hold On with a cane, walker or wheelchair, watch this video)
• If you are driving, safely pull over and stop. Stay in your vehicle.
• If you are in bed, turn face down and cover your head and neck with a pillow.
• If you are outdoors, stay outdoors away from buildings and powerlines.
• If you are inside, stay indoors and do not run outside. After an earthquake, remember:
• If you are near the coast, go inland or to higher ground immediately after the shaking stops in case of a tsunami.
